3 Years…

I just wanted to write a quick post.  A few days ago the hubby and I celebrated 3 years of marriage.  I can’t believe how much has changed over the last few years.  We had a baby, bought a house, adopted a dog…the list goes on.

Marriage is certainly not easy because life is not easy.  When you’re married, everything that happens to your spouse happens to you.  That goes for the good and bad.

We’ve been fortunate that we’ve been able to experience lots of happy events together so far and are looking forward to many more.

Love you honey buns.

Let’s Talk Bread

This post isn’t even a review because it’s about bread.  By default bread is perfection.  I mean, I can’t really think of a bread I don’t like. Can you?

I’ve been intending to post about this bread from Trader Joe’s for quite awhile, but it tends to disappear quickly in my house.

When you find yourself at Trader Joe’s do yourself a favor and pick up a loaf of the Tuscan Pane.  Even if you don’t think you will use it right away you can always freeze it for later.

I use this bread for everything.  It MUST be toasted to maximize enjoyment.  It makes a great toast and is an excellent bread for a (vegan) grilled cheese (you don’t need to toast ahead of time fyi).  I also use this bread as part as an appetizer  when I’m entertaining.  There are really endless possibilities.

My husband and I are going to enjoy a few slices of this tonight with some balsamic tomatoes.  Then I swear I’m freezing the rest so it doesn’t mysteriously disappear tonight!

Review: Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry

Guess who is taking took a nap?  Soy Bean!

I’m (or I was) so exited this is a nap that doesn’t involve me holding him.  Freedom!  He’s been down for about an hour and so far I’ve paid three bills, vacuumed, mopped the floors, cleaned the counters and made lunch.

Speaking of lunch today I pulled out a bag of riced cauliflower stir fry that I picked up from Trader Joe’s the other week.  It was an easy enough meal to make.  I opted to add in some frozen broccoli, fresh peppers, and chickpeas for a little extra protein.  I topped it off with some nooch, Braggs and hot sauce.

I really enjoyed it!  My husband actually thought it was real rice, too.  It had great flavor and you can add pretty much anything to your liking.  You can easily bulk it up for a main course or utilize it as a side dish.  Best of all if you eat the whole bag it’s only 225 calories!

****I meant to post this this afternoon but guess who’s dog barked and woke up the baby…and guess which dog it was.  We still love her (sometimes).

Pupdate

Thank you Adrienne for the term.  So cute.

What’s also cute?  My dogs!

Guess who said his first word…Soy Bean!

Guess what it was…Daisy!

I’m a jealous that I’ve been taking care of Soy Bean his whole life and we’ve only had Daisy for three weeks yet her name is his first word?  Well, let’s just say she’s lucky she’s adorable.

So is Soph.

Review: Chocolate Oat Milk

Let’s talk about milk.

There are a lot of non dairy options out there.  You got your soy milk, coconut milk, almond milk, cashew milk, flax milk, hemp milk, and so on.  I really think you can make milk out of anything these days.

In my house we tend to gravitate towards your basic unsweetened vanilla almond milk.  Nothing adventurous.  However, the other day I was at the grocery store and I saw a new item…chocolate oat milk.  Now I know the idea of oat milk might sound pretty unappealing and I would have passed it over if I had not heard good things about it on the Instagrams.

Let me tell you, it was delicious.  I don’t know what I would expect oat milk to taste like, but it tasted nothing like that (you know what I’m saying right?).  It was rich and cream and passed as fancy real milk for my stepson.  I even used it as a creamer in my coffee this morning.  It’s a great option for kids with nut and dairy allergies as well.  I think it will make the grocery list on a regular basis.

Summer Fun

I’m exhausted but I’m loving this summer schedule.  Today I felt a little anxious because July seems to be going a bit too fast for me.  I want to savor summer as much as possible and enjoy every second with my little guy.

Yesterday I took him to the beach for the first time.  I don’t have any pictures because it was a mommy solo trip, but he had such a blast.  We have a small town beach on a bay, which is perfect for young kids since it’s fairly warm and there aren’t really any waves.  The boy and I sat on the shore and he splashed around in the water and watched the boats.  It was really magical.

After that the magic faded and he turned into a demon baby, but other than that we had a good day…

Today we ventured down to the Plymouth waterfront to walk around.  If you’re from the area please know there is plenty of free parking by the Nelson Street playground (RIP splash pad).

I love Plymouth.  It’s so packed with history.

Anyways, we walked by the rock and checked out some local shops, ending out trek with a raspberry lime rickey from Peaceful Meadows.  I craved these all the time when I was pregnant.  I almost wanted to turn back and buy another one.  They are incredibly refreshing and addictive.  Plus they’re not as bad for you as a milkshake right?

So you are probably wondering about the puggles I’m guessing.  I knew it!  They are doing great.  I think Sophie is a little bummed that Daisy isn’t as playful, but Daisy is basically an old lady.  Although, she flew down the deck stairs tonight when she saw a neighbor’s dog.  Now I’m starting to think she hobbles for attention…
